We’ve stayed current with the constant updating of information regarding what is required of us, as a salon, in order to welcome you back safely. We’d like to share a glimpse of what it’s all going to look like when we are finally able to reopen our doors.

First, we believe the safest way to handle the situation is to treat everyone, including ourselves as if we are infected. The State Board of Barbering & Cosmetology, along with the CDC who governs us, has posted guidelines for salons. Our plan is to go beyond what is recommended and required.

The following list will outline the guidelines, as well as inform you of what to expect upon returning to HABIT. The guidelines will be refined and adjusted, so rather than sending you endless emails, we’ve created this menu page. Please refer to it before your appointment for up-to-date information.

- We ask that you wait outside at the time of your appointment. We will have 6-foot distance markers on the sidewalk. Please be on time.
- Only clients receiving a service will be allowed in the salon.
- Masks will be mandatory. You must wear your mask from the moment you enter until leaving. If you forget yours, it’s no problem. A disposable one will be available to you for $2.
- Once the previous client has left the building and everything has been sanitized we will come outside to greet you. Returning clients, apologies if we don’t recognize you right away behind your mask. There is a really strong chance that we will be calling out your name, even if you are a longtime client!
- Touch-free temperature checks will be required at the entrance before your appointment. We will be doing the same each day for ourselves. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will not be permitted into the building.
- We have set up an entry station for sanitation and communication before we enter the treatment room.
- We can no longer serve beverages, provide magazines, or offer food on the premises.
- Only one small personal item/purse will be allowed to be brought inside with you. During Appointments
- We are currently unable to do any services on the skin that is covered by a mask. This means lip, chin, nostrils and side of face hair removal will be NOT be offered. We feel you and thank you for respecting this temporary limitation that is in place to keep us safe.
- For brow services, we (HABIT) will wear face shields in addition to masks.
- Bed linens will be replaced with sanitizable plastic sheeting. Body waxing will require the addition of a paper sheet that will be disposed of after every client. Think doctor's office vibe….bring a warm sweater if you run cold!
- As excited as we are to talk and catch up, we need to reduce the number of droplets in the air, so please forgive us if we keep conversations to a minimum. (This is going to be a tough one!)

- We will require a touch-free checkout by card or Venmo. For now, we cannot accept cash or checks. If you pay by card, please make sure that the card we have on file is current. If you prefer Venmo, please have the app downloaded and ready prior to your visit.

Sanitation Protocol

- Each area, all tools, stations, and equipment will be sanitized and disinfected between each client. We have all individuality updated our certification on sanitation protocols via Barbicide™ and

Service Duration Times

- At this point, we don’t really know how long it will take to sanitize between clients, or even how long it will take to remove the additional “growth” you have cultivated during our time of closure. This means that service times, as posted on our website, will not correlate to the actual service time you experience. For this reason, please allow yourself some wiggle room getting to your next stop. It’s best not to schedule us into a jam-packed personal day. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we get into the flow of this new norm.

Cancellation Policy

- We will not charge for a last-minute cancellation due to being sick. But, please, let us know as soon as possible so we can adjust our schedules accordingly. After months of closure, our waiting lists will be long and time is valuable.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We thank you again for being with us and supporting us on this challenging journey. We can’t wait to see, or meet you!
