HAIR REMOVAL 101:

Whether it's your first time with us or your first time in general, there are a few things you should know.

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:

Let your hair grow out.
-1/4inch for waxingWax: Strip waxing is accomplished by spreading a thin wax layer over the skin.  A cloth or paper strip is then pressed on top and pulled off with a quick movement against the direction of hair growth. This removes the wax along with the hair.

Hard waxing utilizes hard wax (as opposed to strip wax). In this case, the wax is applied somewhat thickly and with no cloth or paper strips. The wax then hardens when it cools, thus allowing the easy removal, again in the opposite direction of hair growth. Hard wax is beneficial and mostly used on sensitive skin.
(2-3 weeks of approximate growth)
-1/16 for sugaringSugar: Sugaring is one of the oldest forms of hair removal - in modern times this technique is recognized as a regulated aesthetic treatment, requiring training & certification.

A room-temperature sugar mixture is applieddirectly onto the skin and then flicked off with a quick movement of the hand. That means no strips of fabric or tongue depressors. The sugar paste is pushed into each follicle against the hair growth and then removed in the same direction of growth. That process is what creates less pain and breakage while removing hair from the root.

Sugaring can be done on all skin and body parts but is especially beneficial to those who suffer from ingrowns and are sensitive to pain.
Sugaring can also be a great second choice to your regular waxing schedule should a unexpected event present itself since only 5-7 days
of growth is needed.
(7-10 days of approximate growth)

-Gently exfoliate your skin before your appointment. Using a washcloth in the opposite direction of hair growth
can easily do this.

-Avoid extreme heat (sunbathing, saunas, etc) 24 hours before or after your appointment.

-A pain reliever or anti inflammatory can be taken 30 minutes prior to your appointment.

CANCELLATION & NO-SHOW FEES:

In the event you are unable to make a scheduled appointment we do require a minimum of 12 hours notice. Appointments changed, rescheduled, or cancelled with less then the courtesy of 12 hours notice are subject to a cancellation fee of 100%. Missed appointments are also subject to our cancellation fee. If you arrive too late to perform the full service booked but receive a partial service, you will be charged for the original service booked. It is at our discretion as to whether or not we can perform the full service in the remaining time allowed. Unfortunately due to the high number of missed appointments a credit card is now mandatory to make a appointment.
We understand that sometimes an unexpected visit from Aunt Flo might make you feel shy about your wax appointment. Have no fear, come in as planned. Should you choose to reschedule our cancellation policy still applies, period. (Get it?)

AT YOUR APPOINTMENT:

Tell us if you're shy or are more comfortable with certain positions. There are no right or wrong ways to do it, simply different techniques. If you are used to something in particular, please let us know.
Ask about post-treatment exfoliating options if you have concerns. We have a number of products available for purchase.
